About the role
Cloud SQL is the relational database offering from Google Cloud Platform. Cloud SQL supports fully managed database service hosting of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL server databases. Cloud SQL enables customers to deploy highly available databases with a focus on simplicity, reliability, durability, and performance at scale.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain the Cloud SQL Postgres service.
- Contribute to the open source PostgreSQL community.
- Help shape the team vision and long-term strategy and partner with product managers to define and manage the product.
- Drive complex technical projects, including planning and execution, and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with partner teams and customers. Consult and contribute to other initiatives in Cloud SQL and GCP databases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go.
- 3 years of experience with relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Experience designing and developing relational databases, database internals, query processing, and query optimization.
